Featured Artist and GIVEAWAY :: GlitzGlitter

I'm so excited to be bringing you this week's featured artist, Celia of GlitzGlitter!  Celia is yet another exceptional jewelry designer (what can I say.. I'm addicted to jewelry!) and I am often in her shop trying my hardest not to gobble up all her delicious gemstone creations.  Her designs are classic yet eye-catching.  She is just brimming with natural talent and an eye for gorgeous gems.  It's no wonder why she has found such huge success on Etsy after just one year!  She's super sweet and a little shy, so it's an honor she decided to share a little bit about herself here.  Thank you, Celia!

.......................... the interview .........................

What's your favorite read of all time?
Bones of the Moon by Jonathan Carroll

Any guilty pleasures?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer all day marathon :D

(Ok, now onto business)
How would you describe your work?
Simple. I never really wore jewelry until I started making it. I think I make jewelry for the kind of woman who doesn't wear jewelry.

How long have you been at it?
A year. Seems like forever, like I was looking for this kind of outlet my whole life, but it's only been a year.

So for you, is it an innate talent or practice makes perfect?
Practice! And some more practice. I love and hate that I look back on my earlier work and wonder "who the heck made that?"

Do you dabble in any other forms of art?
I knit... slowly and poorly. The fantastic colors yarns come in always call me back when I decide to give up.

What do you do when your inspiration and creativity is tapped?
When my creativity is tapped, I go into my workroom, turn on my ipod and listen to a book. I fiddle around with my beads until something jumps out at me.

When not hard at work on your designs, what would we most likely find you doing?
Tweeting with my friends. Not having a day job is wonderful, but not having coworkers can be lonely. I have so many Etsy friends to talk to on twitter, I feel that I have all the benefits of coworkers without having to go to an office.

What are some of your favorite etsy shops?
Too many to name! From KnitFrekkles' gorgeous knitting, to waterrose's embroidery, Lori411, Chefjen137 and Raceytay's photography, Polestar, littlebugjewelry, and onegarnetgirl's amazing jewelry, wickedsoaps' and blushie's tempting soaps. I could just go on and on. I find new and amazing shops on Etsy every single day.

What's at the top of your etsy wish list?
this satchel

And, as a fun tribute to my inner psychologist, what might this be?
Looks like an eclipse to me.
